Sinces things like pro quality chef’s knives and food processors don’t really come under the heading of gadgets so I had to find one or two that do
A rectangular baking stone >absolutley mandatory for pizza and hand made artisan breads
A grapefruit spoon>A neat tool for scooping things out
How to dice a Roma tomato using a grapefruit spoon
1) cut in half lengthwise
2) using the tip of your 10″chefs knife remove stem stuff
3)remove the seed package with your grapefruit spoon>toss
4)Flatten out tomato with the base of your hand
5)Cut into desired sizes
Also under favorites are
A zester/ channel knife
A nutmeg grater
A food mill> low tech and will do things that food processors simply cannot do

id die without my cheese knife. i belong to a cheese club for $150 a month and i get “samples” (they are actually a lot larger than a sample lol) of 12 cheeses every single month on top of which i get a yearly subscription to cheese party magazine featuring photos of cheeses, histories of cheeses, and special articles from cheese experts all over the world!

Well maybe I am over simplifying things, but I don’t think your gonna get very far with all those fancy peelers and chefs knives (which I LOVE) if you don’t have a spoon. I tend to ALWAYS be out of clean ones and have plenty of everything else in the drawer

Chef’s Knife.
8 inches, stainless steel, sharp as a razor.
I can slice bread, bone a thigh, carve a roast, or handle pesky home intruders.
That and the wooden spoon.
Hey, I’m old-fashioned, what can I say?
(But I do like my stand mixer, too…hmmm)

I like my Pampered Chef food chopper. It makes chopping up onions, peppers, carrots, etc. so much easier. Totally worth the money.
