Is It Possible To Unlock An Iphone Bought Now?
Are the new iphones in the stores with firmware 1.1.1 or 1.0.2? Can I possibly go and pick up a new iphone from the store and unlock it?
If phones with the new firmware are out, then I wouldnt be able to burn them with older firmware and unlock them.. isnt it?

You may be too late! 1.1.1 is on the shelves now. I doubt Apple would shuffle through the stock to find one with 1.0.2. AT&T wouldn’t either!
You may find one on EBAY or the used market.
You already know the 1.1.1 firmware can’t be unlocked. But early adopters might not mind selling to you a used iPhone (with 1.0.2)
You can go backwards for jailbreaks , but not for unlocks.
