How Do I Unlock My Us Iphone To The Vodafone Network?
I have just bought a US version of the iPhone which is locked to the AT&T network. Can anyone give me advice in terms of the safest way of unlocking it to work with my UK Vodafone SIM card? I’ve heard stories about the phone becoming inoperable after an attempted unlocking.. which is something I’m looking to avoid!

The firmware update 1.1.2 was hacked within hours of it’s release and it is VERY easy to unlock iphones with the new update.
The only thing this update really did was patch the TIFF exploit for Safari and Mail and delete third-party applications just like previous updates. Apple said it will open up its iPhone for software developers early next year, as previously rumored.
Have a look around the net for tools for unlocking the iphone they are everywhere. Once you have them unlocking the iphone is easy and only takes a few mins.

I just got a new Nokia which I bought in the UK on O2 and wanted to use on Telstra in Australia “unlocked” at a small phone shop - they had some software which enables them to do it, they might offer a service for iPhones too. It might have been an idea to find out if it can be unlocked before you bought it!

Just call the network provider and tell them that you will be out of your country and you want to use the phone form out side of the country. They will provide you with the unlock code . Then put the unlock code in you phone after putting the new SIM inside. Waalaalla

Don’t do it. Your phone won’t work even if you manage to unlock it because Apple released an update that causes it to stop working if you’ve unlocked it, and you’ll have wasted all your money. Well you’ve probanly wasted it anyway now!
