FURO robot waitstaff lull Koreans into a sense of complacency

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Service robots are nothing new (and neither are dancing robots , for that matter) but unlike our old friend CAFERO , FURO has something of a human face. Of course, this is supposed to soothe and reassure us, but like the old robo-teddy we’re pretty much convinced that this is yet another harbinger of doom . Developed by Future Robot of Korea (not to be confused with Furo, the Japanese robotics manufacturer) this guy can take credit cards and features a touchscreen display and that ominous, disembodied cartoon head

Researchers say any USB peripheral could steal your data, even a coffee-cup warmer

Monday, July 5th, 2010

Apple turns on iAds for iOS 4 devices, right on schedule

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Steve himself noted at WWDC that iAds would go live for ” all iOS 4 devices ” on Canada Day, and sure enough, they look to be popping up today. One eagle-eyed tipster has already found one within the ‘Mirror: for iPod and iPhone’ app, shown above. It’s certainly quite a bit more visually soothing than some other ads we’ve seen, but we aren’t here to judge — instead, we’d love to hear your take on it.
